The Complete Sherlock Holmes Box Set
Two entire days' worth of Sherlock Holmes listening! This box set contains all 18 volumes of a unique series that is a highly collectable item for the many devotees of Sherlock Holmes. The box also includes a book written by the series' dramatiser, Bert Coules, which takes a look behind the scenes at the highs and lows that came with the undertaking of such an enormous project.

The BBC Radio Collection project involved publishing, for what we believe to be the first time on audio, all the Arthur Conan Doyle stories and novels featuring Holmes and Watson. The series has the same team of directors, producers, dramatisers and leading actors - Clive Merrison as Holmes and Michael Williams as Watson. Acclaim for the series has been widespread: 'A remarkable undertaking - the dramatisation of all 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories. Applauding them, and particularly Clive Merrison’s Holmes, made my hands sore.' Peter Davalle, The Times.

Eyewitness: The 1930s
Between the onset of the Depression in 1930 and the outbreak of war in 1939, social and political divisions deepened. Soaring unemployment, wage cuts and the Means Test led to mass demonstrations such as the Jarrow March. Fascism gained a toe-hold in the UK with Sir Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists, and in 1936 the rival ideologies of fascism and communism found a battleground in the Spanish Civil War. Voices such as Churchill and Chamberlain remind us of the political mood, but it is the testament of ordinary people buffeted by events beyond their control that are the most telling in this remarkable BBC audio series.
