bbcgoodfood.com – new website launch from BBC Magazines

www.bbcgoodfood.com, BBC Magazines BBC Magazines’ new and exciting food website, launches today on November 1st 2006.

Acting as an online extension of the UK’s market-leading food title Good Food magazine, www.bbcgoodfood.com aims to be the number one website for people who love cooking and eating food.

Produced by BBC Magazines New Media department who are also responsible for Radio Times and Top Gear magazine’s successful online extensions, bbcgoodfood.com contains unique features that no other food website currently provides:

  • every recipe features a high quality photograph of the finished dish and comprehensive nutritional information;
  • a UK-wide postal search to enable users to locate local food producers;
  • a facility to hear how to pronounce tongue-twisting food and drink words;
  • plus every recipe has been tested in the Good Food kitchen by the magazine’s team of cookery experts.
Vic Grimshaw, previously Executive Producer on UKTV Food and Broadband, and prior to that Senior Producer for bbc.co.uk/lifestyle, was brought on board as Editor of www.bbcgoodfood.com under the magazine’s Editor Gillian Carter and Duncan Swain, Editor-in-Chief for New Media at BBC Magazines.

www.bbcgoodfood.com is aimed at the Good Food magazine audience and internet users who want immediate recipe information and solutions to cooking.

The website will also feature video clips of difficult cookery techniques to ensure users get great results.

After a rigorous pitch process, digital agency Poke, winners of the Revolution Agency Survey for 2006 and 2005, were awarded the contract to design the site.

Advertising is being handled by Unanimis, Europe’s digital adspace experts. Unanimis also run the advertising for the Radio Times and Top Gear websites.

Dare, the award-winning digital marketing agency, are creating a major campaign for the website which will include above-the-line advertising. They will work closely with BBC Magazines’ planning and buying agency, PHD.

Rebecca Conroy, BBC Magazines New Media Director, says:

"We've created a website which is comprehensive, easy-to-navigate but is also a visual treat. The power of the Good Food brand and expertise of the staff backed up with the innovative and original website content we have created will make www.bbcgoodfood.com number one internet destination for those wanting recipes and advice on food."
