BBC Worldwide Consumer Products is a global producer and
distributor of TV entertainment packaged media. It is made up of
video - including DVD, Blu-Ray and DTO - licensed product, music,
BBC Shop and book publishing partnerships. In 2010/11 the
business returned profits of £48.9m.
The division creates innovative products that extend fans'
enjoyment of their favourite shows. The Consumer Products portfolio
of product extensions includes some of the biggest TV entertainment
properties such as Doctor Who, Top Gear, Frozen
Planet and Masterchef, and with some of the most high
profile British talent including John Bishop and
Davina McCall.
BBC Worldwide Consumer Products is the largest UK-owned
publisher of DVD content. The business boasts an
extensive portfolio containing some of the BBC's most acclaimed and
new and catalogue content. It also distributes content for the UK's
top independent producers and broadcasters and produces specially
commissioned content with leading talent under the label
2|entertain. Consumer Products sells around 50 DVDs around the
world, every minute.
Consumer Products also develops great video content through
digital platforms. In the UK, Consumer Products is
iTunes' number one TV partner, as well as boasting a catalogue of
over 650 titles live over six platforms.
Beyond the success in the UK, Consumer Products is a global
entertainment player publishing over 200 DVD and Blu-ray titles in
over 130 territories worldwide including North America, Australia
and Japan.
BBC Licensing is the UK's leading licensor of
television programmes, creating high quality merchandise based on
BBC shows. The licensing team manage a broad portfolio that
spans children's, entertainment, sport, lifestyle, drama and
natural history brands, developing these brands into different
areas of entertainment, such as Masterchef Cookware, Strictly
Make-up and Charlie & Lola clothes range.

Worldwide comprises four business areas: music publishing, records
licensing, international radio syndication, and digital enterprise.
It includes brands from BBC Radio, music and kids TV including
Live Lounge, Dermot O'Leary's Saturday Sessions,
Later…with Jools Holland and Cbeebies Song
Time. It is also home to The BBC Production Music
library which is a joint venture with Universal Publishing
Production Music and BBC Listener - the subscription mobile
application. Audio & Music also includes a 15% share of
AudioGo, the home of BBC audiobooks.

third parties.
