Channels

Formed in 2005, BBC Worldwide Channels' diverse portfolio provides a global showcase for the best mix of British TV across factual, entertainment, children's and lifestyle programming.

Since 2005, the business has grown from operating two small channels primarily targeting the expat community across EMEA, and an additional general entertainment channel in the US, to become the UK's leading international broadcaster.

The business comprises a portfolio of thematic and composite channels in the UK and around the world, some of which are joint-ventured with partner broadcasters such as Knowledge Network Corporation and Scripps Networks International. BBC America is the single largest channel, reaching 71 million homes, while the UKTV joint venture with Scripps Networks International constitutes one of the biggest revenue streams for the Channels business.
