BBC Children’s Books
In April 2004 BBC Worldwide formed a new, global publishing venture with Penguin, comprising the imprint BBC Children’s Books. The new company will publish between 60 and 80 titles a year, alongside Penguin’s existing children’s portfolio. Penguin owns a 75% share of equity and BBC Worldwide a 25% share.
Live shows
Stage shows linked to BBC children’s characters have continued to delight audiences. Two Tweenies tours, Tweenies Live! and No Sleep ’til Bedtime, enjoyed excellent ticket sales and Tweenies Live! also played in Spain for the first time. The first Balamory theatre show What’s the Story? was a resounding success and a national tour planned for autumn 2005 is already selling well. |
