These steps include a £4m investment in an IT system (managing over 100,000 contracts); an improvement in the number and expertise of staff in payment-related areas; and a commitment at Board level to a complete focus on a range of customer-service initiatives. Many improvements have already been made in a complex process; but while the company is not yet at the gold standard that it has set itself to achieve, it plans to be by June 2006.

The environment
BBC Worldwide recognises its responsibility to safeguard natural resources and takes all possible steps to ensure its activities make minimal detrimental impact on the environment. BBC Worldwide does not operate in industries where there is potential for serious industrial pollution.

Six BBC Worldwide magazine titles are printed on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) paper, which is sourced from well-managed forests, including BBC Wildlife and BBC History magazines. Radio Times is now the most widely circulated consumer magazine in the world to be printed on this type of paper.
