BBC Worldwide’s software publishing business,
BBC Multimedia, produces console and PC games
such as Robot Wars, children’s and reference
titles such as Fimbles and Tweenies on PC
CD-ROM, and interactive entertainment for
other platforms, including The Weakest Link
on mobile phones. Its strength in developing
children’s products was reflected in
the number of prestigious awards won, notably

Audiocall is one
of the UK’s leading providers of interactive
telephony services to the broadcast industry.
The year included the global ballot for The
Queen’s Golden Jubilee Concerts, for
which more than 3,000 phone lines in nine
languages from Gaelic to Gujerati were operational.

one remarkable week, Audiocall handled major
televotes across three of the UK’s biggest
channels, beginning with Channel 4’s
‘Big Brother 3’ surprise vote on
24 May. This was followed by Eurovision on
25 May on BBC One. Mid-week, the team handled
ITV1’s Survivor final, resulting in a
total for the week of 2.6 million calls.
