BBC Worldwide markets
some of the worlds leading pre-school
brands Teletubbies, Tweenies, Fimbles,
Bill & Ben and Andy Pandy as well
as having taken a major step into pre-teen
brands with S Club, Ace Lightning and Cavegirl,
and family animation properties Robbie the
Reindeer and Wallace and Gromit.
BBC Worldwide is the leading distributor of
pre-school videos in the UK and had particular
success in the build-up to Christmas 2002,
selling more than half a million units in
this period alone.
Fimbles is the biggest new childrens
success story of the year. BBC Worldwide handles
all distribution for the series, developed
by independent production company Novel Entertainment.

Fimbles is aimed
at two- to four-year-olds and taps into pre-school
childrens natural desire for discovery.
This universal theme is proving popular with
broadcasters, and Fimbles has already sold
to 12 countries from France to Korea.
The success of Fimbles products at Christmas
in the UK was remarkable, especially for a
series which had been on air for only a few
weeks. The first edition of Fimbles magazine
sold 140,000 copies and subsequent sales remain
at that level. Ravensburgers Fimbles
jigsaw was the UKs best-selling puzzle,
whilst Baby Pom was the UKs top-selling
soft toy at Christmas. |
