Commitment to quality
BBC Worldwide aims to be a world-beating organisation, taking pride in delivering quality. In 2002/03 BBC Worldwide’s commitment to quality was demonstrated by a record number of awards won, culminating in a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade (see page 25). The company also continued an excellent record of brand protection, seizing more than 1,110,000 counterfeits globally and preventing goods which can fail to meet even basic safety standards and can be dangerous to consumers from reaching the market.

Commitment to our people
BBC Worldwide participates actively in the BBC’s staff initiative Making It Happen, as a natural
extension of For a Better World, its own programme to improve the working lives of staff, which has run since 1998. During the year BBC Worldwide achieved Investors in People, the national standard for people development, for a second time, and is only the second company in the world to be recognised globally as an Investor in People.

Commitment to creativity
BBC Worldwide’s creativity was marked by the large number of awards won for book and magazine design and production, for multimedia development and for its marketing campaigns.
