Daniel Heaf
Chief Digital Officer
As Chief Digital Officer, Dan is responsible for driving a
unified digital strategy and consumer vision across BBC Worldwide's
digital portfolio. This includes the organisation's world-class
branded consumer services such as: topgear.com and goodfood.com as
well as owned and operated services like the international feature
sections on BBC.COM (BBC Travel, BBC Future and BBC Autos). Dan is
also in charge of the organisation's consumer digital facing
services, including the successful portfolio of brands on Facebook
and international channels on YouTube. He also oversees the
organisations award-winning start-up initiative BBC Worldwide Labs
which supports digital start-ups in their ambitions to secure
global partnerships.
Working collaboratively across BBC Worldwide, Global News and
the BBC's Future, Media and Technology division is an essential
part of Dan's role, ensuring there is effective co-ordination,
shared knowledge and information across these divisions.
Prior to this, Dan was BBC Worldwide's Digital Director,
responsible for the company's digital strategy, financial
targets and co-ordination of its international portfolio of digital
businesses. Additionally, he was responsible for seeking out and
executing on new digital growth initiatives.
Dan began his digital career founding and running a successful
start-up. Since then he's worked for Time Out, AOL and BBC
Radio.
Prior to joining BBC Worldwide Dan worked for Channel 4's
corporate venture fund, 4IP.
